Newcomers must purchase license plates within 30 days of establishing residence in Virginia. DMV Select is located at the Washington County Treasurer’s Office.
DMV Select can handle all transactions for license plates. No Driver's Licenses or Birth Certificates at this location.

DRIVER'S LICENSE
New residents must apply for a driver's license within 30 days of establishing residency in Virginia. New Virginia residents must pass an eye test and surrender their valid driver’s license from another state.

WASHINGTON COUNTY DOG TAGS
All dogs four months or older must have a county dog tag. You must provide proof of rabies vaccination signed by a licensed veterinarian.
