Programs

Leadership Washington County consists of sixteen (16) sessions beginning in mid September and concludes in late April. The program includes a trip to Richmond during the General Assembly Session as well as small group activities outside the scheduled sessions. Additionally, each member is expected to attend one meeting of the school board or a town council.Participants meet with area leaders in business, government, media, and education. They are exposed to a variety of viewpoints which illustrate an array of economic, social, educational, and political factors at work in our area. Members work together to identify community problems. A highlight of the program is an opportunity to visit the General Assembly in session and meet with state and Washington County’s elected officials.
